  • Background

    Enviroguide is a fast-growing, solutions driven environmental consultancy, founded in 2010, with a workforce of 20 consultants (at the time of our initial investment). Enviroguide provides technical expertise and strategic advice to clients in the land development, renewable energy, pharmaceutical and waste management sectors.

    We saw tremendous growth potential in the business as more progressive companies sought expert support to embrace their environmental plans. Enviroguide’s mission-driven approach aligned with our long-term commitment to place purpose and people at the heart of our investment strategy.

    Enviroguide and Ashbrook Capital partnered to develop a strategic plan to grow the business and execute a succession plan for the founders.

  • Value Enhancement

    Digital Transformation:

    We worked closely with the management team to improve the use of financial, project management, marketing and CRM tools which provided data that informed financial reporting, sales initiatives, pricing strategies and recruitment planning.

    People:

    Enviroguide rolled out a people system, enabling employees to collaborate more effectively. They also launched new training and development platforms to upskill employees. They developed a market leading learning and incentive plan for the team and implemented a graduate programme to support the business growth.

  • Results

    During our investment period of two years, the business grew from strength to strength, headcount more than doubled and a succession plan was successfully implemented following the company’s outright acquisition in 2023 by DNV, the independent expert in risk management and assurance, operating in more than 100 countries.

  • Charlie Walsh

    Charlie is cofounder and CSO of Ashbrook Capital. Charlie had an extensive career in corporate banking with Citibank. Charlie also previously held senior commercial roles in the Irish SME sector with a people and commercial focus. Charlie is committed to partnering with great business owners for great outcomes in their transitions. Charlie holds a BComm, MSc Finance and MSc Marketing

  • Ronan Walsh

    Ronan is cofounder of Ashbrook Capital. Prior to establishing Ashbrook, he was a director in Paragon Group, a highly acquisitive buy and build firm. Ronan had a broad career in finance and management consulting with expertise across a wide range of sectors and clients. His career to date has revolved around delivering operational and financial excellence in the European SME sector across retail, manufacturing and digital media.
